++++Tangerine Dream add new Australian SORCERER Concert++++

Tangerine Dream play Sorcerer

Co-presented with ACMI

Founded in 1967, Tangerine Dream may have undergone many line-up changes but their distinctive and immersive sound remains incredibly potent and enormously influential. The score to William Friedkin's epic jungle thriller Sorcerer rates as one of the band's most successful musical releases and is very much a concept album independent of the film.

For the first time in Australia, this legendary krautrock outfit play the complete score to Sorcerer. Presented in association with the film festival CPH PIX and direct from sell-out houses in Copenhagen, the film acts as a haunting backdrop to this special live show.

In trademark Tangerine Dream style, layer upon layer of deep synth and soaring electronic peaks are set against Friedkin's exciting and gripping images to provide a truly unforgettable experience.

The film itself has its roots in Henri-Georges Clouzot's classic 1953 psychological thriller The Wages of Fear where a group of mercenaries are charged with transporting trucks of nitro-glycerine through the South American jungle. But Tangerine Dream's touch rips the story out of the 1950s and places it firmly in the 1970s with a good dash of thumping rhythm laced with heavy psychedelia.

Hear the score in full and uninterrupted for this one-off, truly memorable event.

Please note – the film screens as a visual backdrop to Tangerine Dream's live performance.
